Tree for the Taking wins Sparktank 2023
Dear Tree for the Taking Community,
We are thrilled to announce that Tree for the Taking, founded by Sam Aronson and myself, along with teammate Gess Kelly, has taken home first place at the prestigious Sparktank Pitch Competition held at Brandeis University. The competition was fierce, and we are honored to have been recognized among a pool of talented entrepreneurs and innovators.
As winners of the competition, we have been awarded a substantial prize of $10,000 USD. This funding will play a crucial role in fueling the development of our first prototype guitar, as well as supporting the launch of our highly anticipated Kickstarter campaign. With this financial boost, we are excited to bring our vision of creating high-quality electric guitars made from invasive species tree wood to life.
This recent victory marks an incredible milestone for Tree for the Taking, as it follows our first-place win at another startup competition. We are humbled by the recognition and support we have received thus far, and it motivates us to continue pushing boundaries and pursuing our mission of sustainable guitar production.
Looking ahead, we are eagerly anticipating what 2023 has in store for us. With the momentum gained from these achievements, we are preparing for the next round of pitching as we strive to secure a spot in the highly esteemed Mass Challenge Early Stage Accelerator program. This opportunity will provide us with invaluable resources, mentorship, and guidance to propel our venture forward.
We are immensely grateful for the unwavering support from our Tree for the Taking community. Without your encouragement and belief in our mission, none of this would be possible. Together, we’re on a journey to make positive impact on the environment while crafting exceptional guitars.
Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for being a part of our journey.
Warm regards,
The Tree for the Taking Team
